Powerless & Unmanageable

Posted in Group:

My first cigaretts was at the age of about 11. But I started smoking full time at about the age of 18 or 20 and have been smoking ever since, so 24-26 years now. I have a hard time breathing, cough up bloody sputum sometimes and taking a drag LITERALLY makes me sick. I can not even count the times I have attempted to quit, with and without 'help' or 'aids.' I know as a recovering addict (alomst 8 years off drugs and alcohol) that one (cigarett) is to many, and a thousand never enough. This is truly the hardest thing I have ever tried to quit, I get SOO freaking disquisted and disappointed in myself that at this point the failure to quit is depressing. Geez, I am typing this because if I don't do something I will go to the store and buy cigaretts. When I tell myself I really only want one to ease the craving, damn this addiction is powerful shit man.

Sure I could cut down, I dont smoke much anyways on a 'normal" day. But high stress day I can suck em down. For me as a recovering addict I know that I just have to suck it up and quit, but I dont got it in me to do that. And I just hate relying on the patch, which works for me. cause once I have been on it for a time, the dose becomes to strong and makes me literally sick. GEEZ.

Quiting is the hardest thing to do. cigarettes should be banned. Ive tried to quit many times and it's pretty impossible. Today is my fourth day smoke free! I have switched over to electronic cigs. They have changed my life. I will never touch a real cig again.
